Contract logistics provider enlarges logistics area at its Mega Center by 2,800 square metres
Hamburg, 13th July 2017. The Fiege Mega Center in Hamburg is expanding its usable logistics space and building a new platform inside its 70,000 square metres-large warehouse. Work is already underway for the new platform. First services for customers are expected to be carried out on the 2,800 square metres-large platform as from week 36.
The platform will feature a direct-access freight elevator with the possibility to set up an access control system. The new platform offers space for up to 10,000 shelf panels in total. Over 30 jobs are being created. All work stations have computer access and power supply. 24/7 video surveillance and security cages for premium goods further underlines the quality of the security concept in Hamburg. Fiege’s Hamburg subsidiary set alongside the A1 and A7 motorways is designed as a multi-user facility for Fiege clients operating in tires, the industry and consumer goods.
“The Mega Center in Hamburg is a logistics hotspot with its proximity to the international port and its first-rate access to various federal motorways”, says Rouven-Alexander Slabik, Business Development Fiege Hamburg. He adds: “The new platform offers more space to provide value added services to our existing customers in particular and allows us to make room for new clients.” The new platform caters primarily to adding value to services for customers from the eCommerce and high-tech (electronics) segment.
