Three new warehouse sections offering 30,000 sqm in logistical space are under construction
Ibbenbüren, 2 July 2020. The logistics company Fiege is expanding its Fiege Mega Center Ibbenbüren. Three new warehouse sections are being built at the multi-user centre located to the north of the Münsterland, growing the available logistics space by 30,000 square metres to a total 155,000 square metres dedicated to logistics. In Ibbenbüren, Fiege provides services for various clients from the Fashion, Consumer Goods, Industry and Healthcare sectors. Fiege Real Estate has been planning the expansion of the logistics property and is now overseeing the project’s implementation.
“The multi-user centre in Ibbenbüren came into operation in 1992 and since then has evolved continuously. The facility meets cutting-edge standards of a logistics property to this day. Over the years, the facility has seen an efficient use of its capacities by a range of different clients. Today, is serves primarily as an eCommerce warehouse”, Jan Fiege, Managing Director Fiege Real Estate says. Owing to its location, the Ibbenbüren site is ideal to supply Germany’s northern economic regions up to Bremen and Hanover, as well as the corresponding southern regions all the way to the Ruhr district. “E-tailers are focusing increasingly on the highly professional handling of their logistical requirements. Therefore, the demand for logistical spaces that cater to this continues to be strong. We are excited that this expansion allows us to offer these attractive spaces. Ibbenbüren is a crucial location for us, especially for our Omnichannel Fulfillment concepts”, Jan Fiege adds. Fiege enables clients to tightly mesh their brick-and-mortar retail activities with online trading with the help of special supply chain solutions.
Construction for the expansion of the site has already started. Works are scheduled to be completed by mid-2021.
