Textiles logistics: Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof – Fiege joint venture will distribute Esprit hanging garments
Essen/Greven, 20 November 2019. The logistics experts of Fiege and Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof have won the international fashion group Esprit as a third-party client for their new joint venture formed in 2018. Starting in spring 2020, the logistics centre based in Neuss-Norf will be supplying stores with hanging garments by Esprit.
“We are excited to have won Esprit as our first partner for our all-new third-party business venture”, says Reinhard Haas, head of Logistics and Real Estate at Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof. “As stated before, we intend to make this unique connection of supply chain and retail expertise accessible to other partners, too – and here in particular to the complex textiles segment. To achieve this, we are jointly investing into the modernisation of our infrastructure at the warehouses.”
“We are currently distributing Esprit’s full assortment for all its stores and are even supplying Esprit’s shop-in-shop concepts which can be found, for example, at Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof department stores”, says Walter Johne, Managing Director Omnichannel Retail at Fiege.
“The joint venture between Fiege and Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof is a logistics partnership for which a customer-centric, fast and flexible service is just as important as it is for Esprit. The uniform management of logistics for our hanging and flat textile goods will contribute yet again to the clear improvement of services for our wholesale partners as well as our own stores in the future”, says Leif Erichson, Chief Digital & Operations Officer at Esprit.
