Fiege transports vegetable oils and fats for Sels from Bocholt

The Neuss-based family business trusts in the logistics company from Westphalia

Bocholt, 22nd March 2018. Vegetable oils and fats by Sels Öl und Fett will be distributed via Fiege Logistik in Bocholt in the future. The family business Sels has commissioned Fiege to collect the palleted goods directly from its production site in Düsseldorf daily, for direct delivery to wholesalers from there. Fiege took over the logistics for Sels Öl und Fett in mid-March.

The Sels oil mill in Neuss produces vegetable oils, fats and wholemeal for use as food, bio fuel and animal feedstuff. With a workforce of 100, the company processes around 900,000 tons of rape each year. The canola oil is bottled at the plant in Düsseldorf in PET bottles and sold through the wholesale trade in commercial sizes. In addition to the 1-litre and 10-litres bottle, packaging sizes go up to 1,000-litres containers.

The Fiege location in Bocholt is IFS-certified and one of the largest warehouses for spirits logistics in Europe. “We also have major know-how when it comes to organising transportation and transport clearance”, says the branch manager, Dirk Brocks. Fiege will take charge of the national distribution for the new client, Sels.
