Mega Center for fashion customers built in nine months
Burgwedel, 19th December 2017. In November of this year, the logistics company Fiege completed the construction of a new location situated in Burgwedel right on schedule. Only nine months have passed between the start of construction and completion of the new Fiege Mega Center for the Hanover region. Fiege Real Estate’s construction department developed and implemented the project in co-operation with the general contractor, Köster Bau.
On a roughly 77,000 square metres-large site, a logistics facility with around 41,000 square metres of warehouse space and 2,000 square metres for offices and recreational areas has been built for Fiege customers from the fashion and online retailing sector. One of the four warehouse segments will be let to the drugstore chain, Rossmann, whose corporate headquarters are in the immediate vicinity of the Fiege Group’s new Mega Center. “Our new logistics centre is located centrally within Europe, directly alongside the A7 motorway, making it a perfect choice for eCommerce business”, is how Jan Fiege, Managing Director Fiege Real Estate commented on the advantages of the Mega Center’s location.
To ensure the property’s long-term capacity exploitation, the Fiege Mega Center for the Hanover region has been designed as a multi-user facility and can accommodate many different usages and potential customers. Also, the sustainable planning and construction of the entire facility has been certified by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). “This supports our mission which aims to create sustainable project developments of the highest possible quality”, says Jan Fiege. The new warehouses are currently being set up and fitted with the necessary equipment. First logistical transactions for Fiege customers from fashion and online retailing segments have already been handled from Burgwedel.
